Building a new home can be … unpredictable
This couple was looking for more space for their family.
We first helped them buy a pre-construction home, which initially would have been ready in about one year. The couple wanted to sell and rent until their new home would be ready.
Then the pandemic hit.
Supply chain and other delays changed everything. When the new house was finally ready, it had been 2.5 years.
That’s a long time to be in housing limbo. But we were there for them all the way.
Luckily, they didn’t have to spend that time in a temporary rental situation. We advised them throughout the process to stay where they were and wait until it was closer to move-in time to sell.
In the end, not only did they get to stay in their home while the new one was built, their smaller home even made them more money than what they paid for their newer, bigger home.
