What does a realtor do when they sell their own home?

Haroon tells the story of selling his own home: “My wife and I decided to sell our own house so we could get a bit more space for our growing family. We had three kids and the market was slowing down so like everyone we really wanted a smooth sale. And so we approached it like we would any other house. Everything we tell other people to do, we did it.

“I sent the kids and wife away to live with family for a week so I could get the house ready. I say I, but of course I brought in the professionals. I had it painted it a trendy colour, got new stainless steal appliances, painted the cabinets, refreshed the carpet and changed all of our light fixtures. Then I had it staged and brought out the full multimedia treatment. Top-notch photography, of course, but also a coming soon video, a virtual tour, a social media push and a listing video that’s almost as much fun as we had living there.
